Mix up your intervals for maximal metabolic burn!

If you're like me you hate, hate, hate steady state cardio! But you want that lean efficient healthy body and you know that steady state cardio maximizes cardiovascular health and burns fat...guess what you're wrong! Intervals are the way to go for both! "Jack, you've written about intervals before. What could you possibly have to say now?" Here's what I have to say now, voice in my head I'm passing off as a client so I seem less insane! Skip steady state completely and do intervals for maximum cardiovascular output and fat burning! "Jack you really are insane! How could I possibly recover from that and not over train my muscles?"  Good question, and yes it's well established I'm nuts but moving forward... Intervals can be done anywhere and any way! If you're anything like me you cannot stand doing intervals on the elliptical or bike or step mill for what seems like endless amounts of time, especially with good sunny weather outside, so change it up!

Prowler alternating between high pushing and low handle pushing activates quads and hamstrings, great for after a leg day! Kettle bell swings and tire flips for time, great interval after a dead lift and back workout! Ropes and kettle bell clean and presses great after a chest shoulder triceps workout!  Hill sprints or parking lot sprints are just good old fashion fun to test your speed. If you're going to give this a shot i would absolutely recommend eating some carbs and amino acids in between your weight training and sprinting. This will keep your energy levels high and keep your muscles from going catabolic. But rather than spend hours on end of steady state, enjoy some old old sprints whether outside or inside on some equipment and maximize fat loss and cardiovascular output!
