Moving Forward

As you have likely noticed, ChrisFit has been going through some changes these past few months. I thought now would be a good time to address a few items as we move ever forward.

Our training staff has recently seen the biggest changes, having lost some great team members. But rather than dwell on that as a negative, let's try to focus on the great opportunities that have been placed in front of our friends and colleagues that have allowed them to pursue other dreams and advance their careers. To clarify and dispel any confusion:
Pete was offered an internship with the strength and conditioning coach for a college football team and had to relocate for the summer to North Carolina. He hopes to be coaching football back in WNY next year and would like to return to ChrisFit when his schedule allows, but for now is working on advancing his knowledge in the field he is striving to make his career.
Chris Ellingson (Buttercup) was offered a position with Golder Environmental in the field of his training/degree (Geology). This was a huge opportunity for Chris to break into the Geology field and will provide him a great career and all the benefits that go along with it.
Nick Johnson came to ChrisFit while he was on the waiting list for a job with NT Fire Dept. A few weeks ago, he got the call that his chance had come, and decided to pursue that avenue. That new path allows him to serve our community, and affords a new father the chance to spend more time with his family while supporting them well. He intends to come back to ChrisFit on a limited basis after his time at the Fire Academy, and will be welcomed back when that time comes.
In Lewiston, Brian will be returning to Nursing school full time, and as such dropping to very minimal training time so as to focus his energies on his education in an important field.
As a gym and a family we will miss all of these great friends and trainers both professionally and as friends, but wish then nothing but the best in pursuing other dreams.

Chris and I have been hunting nonstop for new trainers to accommodate all of our current clients as well as those who are new to us. But we WILL NOT hire someone who is just another body to cover sessions. This gym, this business, this extended family was started with a set of ideals and values that we refuse to compromise. Any new member of our staff will reflect those ideals and will represent our standards of providing not only the best personal training in the area, but also a level of personal connection and attention. We truly care about and value the well-being of each and every member of this facility and will only hire like-minded individuals.
That said, we have recently added one new member to the team - Lauren Ciurzynski is a great trainer, and has the right personality to fit this community's needs. (And keep up with our shenanigans!)
We hope to add more trainers in the coming weeks, but will wait until the right applicant comes to us.

With all of that change occurring I realize that some people will be inconvenienced and for that we apologize. But please realize that we are doing our very best to accommodate everyone as fast as possible, and appreciate your continued patience.
I also realize that so much change is bound to worry some people. I can't change that, and I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I can assure you that I will continue to give my very best to this gym, to it's members, to my clients, my friends, my extended family. I'm not going anywhere, and will fight every day to give the best I can to this community, both with training, and any other support needed.

Thank you all for reading, for your patience and understanding, and for being part of ChrisFit.

-Steve Decker
