Determination. That is what it takes to be successful. Whether it’s your job, school, goals in the gym, or even your wildest ambitions, you must be determined. Every day I walk into my “job” at ChrisFit and I am inspired by all of those around me. And I hesitate to call something I love doing so much a job… Every time I open those gym doors, I see people sweating, groaning, scratching and clawing their way to better bodies. These people have something they want and are going after it. They don’t just want it and expect it to happen. It takes guts to push yourself that hard. It takes trust to believe in what your trainers are telling you. It takes DETERMINATION to stick with it time and time again when quitting is such an easy option.
That being said, I wanted to talk about how inspired I have become in the hopes of reaching out to others who are not as inspired. Those who continue to struggle. Who are afraid to push themselves. Who are afraid to sweat and do what they need to do to get to their goal. As a trainer, I feel I have failed you and myself if I cannot get you to where you need to be. But ultimately, I have realized, it is YOU that are in control. I can take someone down the path step by step, workout by workout. But if they are not ready for that level of trust and commitment and willingness to follow the directions of their trainer, they cannot and will not succeed. There are many, many people who would do anything to accomplish their fitness goals and get to a healthier place in their lives. Are you one of them? I have people waiting for time slots to open up, in the hopes of giving me everything they have to better themselves. If this is not you, I urge you to take a step back and evaluate why. If you truly want to accomplish what you have set out to do, don’t be the thing that stands in your own way. Have a look around you. Become inspired by what others are doing. Follow the directions of your trainer. If you have a bad day eating, or you didn’t hit an all time best in your work out, move on. Carry on forward stronger from that lesson and overcome it next time. Do not dwell in the past. If there is something holding you back, or you don’t understand, ask your trainer for help. I chose to be a personal trainer for that very reason. To help others in any way I could. Whether it is with an addiction to food, or being too timid to work out in front of others, I want to help. But most importantly, it is you that has to go into this journey with a brand new, positive attitude and drive, every single day, giving 100% of your effort. When you are that determined, you inspire others and can accomplish your dreams.
