Holding Up the Globe

The other day I was training a client when another gym member came. They had their back to us, and our ChrisFit logo was visible on their shirt.
For some reason the logo really stood out. This is our original logo since inception in 2008.
There’s no easy way to say this, the recently arrived member has been having a real shitty past year.
As this gym member placed their belongings in the gyms cubby area, 3 gym members had arrived and approached “Bob”. They all offered some type of encouragement, whether it was a hug, a good ole fashioned attempt at humor or just inquiring about “Bob’s” current situation.

For a long moment, I had this weird feeling that we(I) got the logo wrong.
Our logo shows an outline of a presumably male figure holding the world on his shoulders and upper back.
This is the exact opposite of how this “gym” operates.  As a “gym’ we have weathered some tough storms and seen some amazing things.
Some of the great experiences: members meeting at ChrisFit and getting married, now with children. Members becoming grandparents(and having energy to take care of said grandchildren).
Members and clients getting promotions, being accepted( and graduating) med school, becoming healthier, reducing need of medications, setting PR’s and having enough confidence to leave unhealthy relationships/situations, apply for the job or even to purchase that new dress/outfit.
We’ve also had our fair share of events that have tested us. Circumstances such as cancer, divorce, death of loved ones, death of members, and  loss of jobs are an unfortunate part of life.
The freaking amazing thing? In either the good or the tumultuous events, there has never been a shortage of listening ears or helping hands. This is what I’m most proud of. Losing tons of weight or adding muscle are great accomplishments, but enhancing ones life, thats where it’s at.
So, even though we are not changing the logo, the next time you see it, please see all the members and staff that are helping to hold the globe up
